AT: C++ creator Bjarne Stroustrup praises the open source project POCO C++ Libraries

In an interview in January 2011, Bjarne Stroustrup, creator of the C++ programming language, cited the Austrian open source project POCO C++ Libraries as a good example of a C++ library.

Bjarne Stroustrup was discussing the future of C++ standards. When asked about the inadequacy of Unicode support in the standard class library, he referred to the importance of third-party libraries, and as an example he cited POCO C++ Libraries. C++ libraries enable software developers to create network- and internet-based applications for desktop, server and embedded systems.

The POCO C++ Libraries project was initiated in 2006 by Günter Obiltschnig and is now one of the most popular C++ class libraries. The mention of the project by the creator of C++ is a great reward for Mr Obiltschnig and the POCO team and confirms the importance of their long-standing work on the project.
