The second edition of the Artischaud festival will be held in the French cities of Lyon and Villeurbanne from 18 to 24 October 2009, under the motto "free culture for every one". The festival will consist of two different sections: an artistic program and a series of debates focusing on digital issues. This year edition will follow the eleventh open source software days, organised by the association for the development of free information of Lyon, which will take place on 16-17 October.
The Artischaud festival aims to show the growing importance of free and open source software and applications in various artistic and cultural sectors, such as dance, theater, music, graphism, etc.
The programme of the last day will be dedicated to debates and conferences. From 10am to 12 am, two round tables on "Digital practices of populations, the rebirth of a shared culture" will be held in Lyon. The first one will focus on the experiences of social and cultural actors, while the second one will deal with the use of non proprietary licenses. From 2pm to 5pm, a conference on "culture for all in the digital age" will be held at the MJC Monplaisir, in Lyon. The conference is mainly addressing youth, social and cultural workers, as well as people working in cultural associations and institutions.
