The IT Departments of the European Parliament (ITEC) and the European Commission (DIGIT) have joined forces to organize the 2016 IT Forum for the European institutions.
DIGITEC 2016: Digital Future will take place on November 29th in the Square Conference Centre in Brussels.
The first inter-institutional forum ever will be an interactive event, covering topics such as the use of digital technologies for better policy making and discussing how the digital future will innovate and shape the way of working in large organizations.
The forum will bring together the IT communities of the institutions to share best practices and find possible synergies around IT security, open source software, data analysis and mobile computing.
Both DIGIT and DG ITEC have organised similar events in the past. However, this time the forum promises to be the largest to date in scale and scope.
The event will include two main panels in the morning and two more in the afternoon, plus six parallel sessions during the afternoon.
The panels will focus on the Workplace of the future, Digital Democracy and Technologies of the Future. The sessions will retake the topics from the main panels, including discussions on knowledge workers, user experience, technologies in public administration, open source and IT security.
Keynote speakers will include figures from the private sector, public institutions and academia. Representatives from Google, Amazon and Proximus will take part, as will some MEPs.
You can find all the information you need on the DIGITEC 2016: Digital Future website or watch this space:#digitec16. The event will be live streamed.
