The Polish government and parliament have agreed on zoning regulation reforms to speed up construction of broadband Internet projects. The new rules make it easier for telecom infrastructure providers to construct installations.

Poland is also making it mandatory to equip multi-family residential buildings and public utility buildings with telecom infrastructure.

The construction of broadband Internet will be cheaper and faster, Poland’s Ministry of Digitisation announced on 9 June.

With its Digital Poland programme (‘Programu Operacyjnego Polska Cyfrowa’), the government wants to boost construction of broadband Internet infrastructure. The ministry also plans to organise service desks (Punkt Informacyjny do spraw telekomunikacji, or PIT), to provide citizens and companies with information on procedures and formalities, investments and funding opportunities.
