Asked about eGovernment services, citizens in Belgium’s Walloon region, responded that they use the Internet mostly to find information on government websites (48%) and to file mandatory declarations (20%).

The next two most-used eGovernment services are the ordering of forms (14%) and making reservations (for instance courses for children, or reserving meeting rooms). Other types of interaction are mainly responses to requests from the administration, and applications for subsidies.

Measuring the usage of eGovernment services is part of the Walloon Region’s annual Baromètre de maturité numérique des citoyens wallons (Walloon citizens’ digital maturity barometer). The 2017 edition was published on 23 June.

More than half of Walloons (54%) consulted at least one public service website during the past year. The most frequently consulted municipal (47%) and regional (29%) websites.
