Description (short summary):
The project eID Interoperability for PEGS aims to solve technical issues in pan-European identity management interoperability challenge. The member states of European Union are introducing more sophisticated ways to manage identities in eGovernment area. Different member states are implementing different structures as their identity management solution. The objective for eID Interoperability for PEGS project is to propose a general architecture that, while taking into account the existence of different models, is able to cope with those in obtaining the final goal of interoperability. The project will conclude with several different proposals on how to build interoperability without affecting member states own infrastructure. The eID Interoperability for PEGS project consist of three different phases:

  • Standards and researches in area of identity management need to be studied and evaluated.
  • Secondly accurate and up-to-date country reports need to be built for each participating country.
  • Based on those two phases, recommendations of how to build interpretable European wide identity management infrastructure needs to be built will be provided.
