The Open FLOSS Congress in the Polish city of Sosnowiec will take place on 12 April 2014. The meeting is aimed at both the academic community and the "wider world of human science and the IT market" write the organisers, the Institute of the Computer Science Faculty of the Computer Science and Materials Science, University of Silesia in Katowice and the Polish Linux Users Group (PLUG).
The one-day conference is open to researchers, graduate students, students, high school students, professionals and others interested in computer science, free and open source software and the broader issues of openness.
The Congress will be held on April 12, 2014 in Sosnowiec, in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Earth Sciences, University of Silesia. Admission to the Congress is free.
The program includes both formal lectures, panel discussion, as well as social gatherings and discussions backstage. In addition to technical lectures will also include lectures in the field of copyright and related rights, economics, library science, philosophy, the idea of openness and socio-sociological issues related to these issues.
