About DT4Regions
DT4REGIONS is a European Parliament Preparatory Action supported with European Funds. Its aim is the creation of a European Platform for Regions to enable AI and Big Data collective solutions. It is a unique challenge-based innovation platform for the development of tools and services of public interest. At the same time, its goal is to enhance public administration efficiency and effectiveness in user-centric services. Within this context, public administrations were engaged in defining the platform services and can benefit from dedicated capacity building and mutual learning activities, with a view to exploiting the full potential of the platform itself. Regional innovation ecosystem actors contribute to the identification of the platform functionalities and contents, as well as of the future public services to be developed and delivered on the back of AI and Big Data solutions.
About the Award
The DT4REGIONS Award gives visibility to the best solutions such as initiatives and technological applications based on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data currently in use by public administrations in Europe. Governments in Europe are doing efforts to integrate AI and Big Data solutions into their operation and to improve services to citizens. From an analysis performed by AI Watch it emerged that the AI is particularly used to support redesigning governance processes and policy-making mechanisms, as well as to improve public service delivery and engagement with citizens.
The DT4REGIONS Award aims to encourage a bottom-up sharing of best practices, solutions, applications and initiatives adopted by national and regional governments or by public authorities at all levels so to increase mutual learning. Awarding the most successful cases of AI and Big Data implementation will serve to help scaling these solutions to further Member States.
Who can participate?
The DT4REGIONS Award is open to all civil servants, representatives of public administrations and members of European regional and national authorities that are aware of an initiative, application or successful solution based on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data adopted by public administrations in Europe.
Deadline for candidatures
The award will be open from 1st July 2022, candidatures can be submitted until the 30 November 2022 at 23:00 CET.
Deadline extended: to allow an even wider European participation, we decided to extend the submission’s deadline for the DT4regions award till the 30th November 2022.
Wanted are solutions such as initiatives and technological applications based on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data currently in use by public administrations in Europe.
