Following the publication of 34 national factsheets, the 2017 EU eGovernment factsheet is now available on the NIFO Community.
EU eGov factsheet compiles the usual facts and figures building the state of play of eGovernment in the European Union and in European countries. It also presents and explains the main instrument of the European Union to accompany the modernisation of the public sector. These instruments go from non-binding initiatives (strategies, action plans…) to Policy instruments, funding programmes (such as ISA² or ESIF), legislative initiatives and soft instruments (such as peer to peer help and best practice sharing).
Since the last version made public last year, new reference documents are published among which the Common Assessment Model Standards and Specifications (CAMSS) and of the Interoperability Maturity Model (IMM), as well as the EU Catalogue of Standards for ICT Procurement.
Developments and progress made on some European eGov initiatives, like the European Cloud Initiative or the Open Source strategy, demonstrate the valuable approach adopted by the Digital Agenda in the last years. It shows wish to capitalise on trends and ideas from new eGovernment services adopted by national and European public administrations.
The factsheet is made available on the Joinup platform by the National Interoperability Framework Observatory (NIFO) community.
The eGovernment factsheets focus on policies and activities covering good practices in the delivery of electronic services to the benefit of public administrations, businesses and citizens. NIFO is a project by the European Commission’s ISA² programme. It assists EU countries in monitoring the take up of eGovernment and interoperability.
