FOSSGIS is free and open source software for geographic information systems. The FOSSGIS Conference is the leading conference in the German-speaking countries on this issue. The conference focusses on new and upcoming FOSSGIS topics, Open Data and OpenStreetMap.
The FOSSGIS Conference 2015 is organised by the nonprofit association eV FOSSGIS , the OpenStreetMap community and the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo) in collaboration with the Institute for Geoinformatics of the University of Münster and 52 ° North.
The aim of the annual conference with over 400 participants is the increase the use of free and open source software for geographic information systems. Here, users and developers meet to exchange, discuss solutions and find job opportunities as well as share and discuss the latest developments in this area. It's about web mapping, spatial data infrastructures, spatial data management, geoprocessing and desktop GIS and spatial data for free, like Open Street Map.
