On 4 February 2021, the Latvian Open Technologies Association (LATA) will be hosting their 14th Annual Conference titled “How to Stay Open in the New Era”. The event will feature a broad variety of speakers presenting diverse topics from the open technologies’ world and the presentation of the annual LATA awards.
LATA Annual Conference
The Latvian Open Technology Association (LATA) is a leading and highly influential ICT industry association in Latvia that promotes cooperation between technology suppliers and public sector consumers, including public, municipal authorities, educational and scientific institutions. They promote the openness of technologies, interoperability, reusability, OSS and open standards, along with free and fair competition in procurement processes. Additionally, they carry out awareness-raising activities to educate children about open technologies and open data and promote research and development in these areas. For the last ten years, the have organised an annual conference in January at the University of Latvia, and the event is both popular and influential.
This year’s event is titled “How to Stay Open in the New Era” and will feature presentations on the following topics:
- The benefits and importance of open data
- Open source software in public administrations
- Digital identity
- Open geospatial data
- And more!
Additionally, the annual LATA Awards will be presented at the conference, recognising major developments and achievements using open technologies in Latvia.
Online registration is compulsory and free of charge. The presentations will take place in a mixture of English and Latvian.
