Between 1-4 December, Rete Italiana Open Source (RIOS) will be hosting Open Source Week 2020, a four-day event dedicated entirely to the open source world. Topics such as cybersecurity, collaboration, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and IoT, among others, will be examined through the lens of open source, as well as their application in public administrations and other sectors.
RIOS Open Source Week
RIOS is a network of companies that was created to promote open source software solutions and serve as a point of reference in Italy for anyone seeking to use open source technologies as part of their work. RIOS is hosting Open Source Week, a four-day event detailing the potential applications of open source across a variety of sectors. Events on 2 December are dedicated entirely to open source software in public administration and how public servants can navigate the world of open source. Presentations on the day will address a variety of topics, as follows:
- Software ownership
- Procurement processes
- Information about Italy’s Government Agency for Digital Italy (AGID) Guidelines on the procurement and reuse of software by public administrations
