Open Government Champions and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (OGP Summit)

Published on: 17/12/2016

At the Open Government Partnership Summit in Paris in December 2016, a discussion was organised on how the OGP can be used to help member countries attain the Sustainable Development Goals.

On September 25th 2015, countries adopted a set of goals to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. Each goal has specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years.

The Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 have been accepted widely. However, it is felt that more discussion is needed on how to turn its concept into actions. For more details on the OGP Summit workshop, including a list of speakers, please visit the workshop's web page.
