Data Specifications

The development of data specifications is a core activity of SEMIC. The project manages the following specifications:

  • Core Vocabularies
Core Vocabularies are simplified, re-usable and extensible data models that capture the fundamental characteristics of an entity in a context-neutral fashion.
The DCAT Application Profile for data portals (DCAT-AP) is a specification based on the Data Catalogue vocabulary (DCAT) for describing public sector datasets in Europe.
The Core Public Service Vocabulary Application Profile (CPSV-AP) is a data model that has been developed  for describing public services.
  • Domain vocabularies:
Data models for specific domains, such as an application or data set. Domain vocabularies are created to support the publication of (linked) open data.
