About the workshop
The OpenCube consortium, in collaboration with Eurostat and the NTTS 2015 Scientific Committee, is pleased to invite NTTS 2015 participants to join a satellite Workshop on Linked Statistics on Thursday 12 March. This Workshop will start at 18.00 and end at 20.00, and will be held in the Charlemagne Conference Centre in Brussels (the same venue as NTTS 2015).
Specific registration mandatory
Participation to the workshop is free of charge, but for capacity planning reasons, everybody wishing to participate must register via the following form: http://www.cros-portal.eu/content/registration-ntts-2015-special-satellite-workshop-session-21b-linked-statistics
The OpenCube project runs from November 2013 until October 2015 and is receiving funding from the European Union Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under grant agreement n° 611667 (www.opencube-project.eu). The results of the project include open-source tools that enable creating and exploiting statistical data that are modeled based on the RDF data cube vocabulary. An important benefit of the OpenCube tools when compared to more traditional approaches is data integration at a Web scale.
The aim of the workshop is to present the OpenCube tools for exploiting linked open statistical data.
The workshop will start with a short introduction on the OpenCube toolkit and its benefits (http://opencube-toolkit.eu/).
After that, the participants will be guided to a hands-on tour on using and evaluating some of the OpenCube tools. These include tools for visualising statistical data and for identifying and merging data residing in different Web locations. Thus, for you to fully benefit from the Workshop, you have to bring your own laptop.Expected Participants:
