Lieven Baert is a historian and obtained an archives management degree from the Free University of Brussels in 1998. He works at the Historical Archives Service of the European Commission since 2007. He is specifically interested in the application of information technology to the archives management domain. The activities he worked on the past years relate to the digitisation and digital preservation of historical archives. He is currently involved in the implementation of a new corporate archives management system.
