Eurostat and the NTTS Scientific Committee are organising the 2017 edition of the New Techniques and Technologies for Statistics (NTTS) conference from 14 to 16 March 2017 in Brussels.
This year, there will be a poster session on “StatDCAT-AP: A common metadata layer for making statistical data more visible, open and linkable” presented on Thursday 16 at 1PM at the Lobby of the venue.
The StatDCAT Application Profile is an extension of the DCAT Application Profile for data portals in Europe, aiming at providing a commonly-agreed dissemination vocabulary for statistical open data. The basic use case of StatDCAT-AP is to facilitate a better integration of the existing statistical data portals within open data portals, thus improving the discoverability of statistical datasets across domains, sectors and borders.
The New Techniques and Technologies for Statistics (NTTS) is an international biennial scientific conference series organised by Eurostat on new techniques and methods for official statistics, and the impact of new technologies on statistical collection, production and dissemination systems.
Participation to the NTTS 2017 conference is free of charge but requires registration: http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/cros/content/ntts-2017-now-open-registration.
The purpose of the conference is to:
· Allow the presentation of results of currently ongoing research and innovation projects in official statistics;
· Stimulate and facilitate the preparation of new innovative projects (by encouraging the exchange of views and co-operation between researchers - including the possible building of research consortia) with the aim of enhancing the quality and usefulness of official statistics; and
· Prepare activities related to research in statistics within the European Framework Programme for Research and Development (Horizon 2020).
