SEMIC - Upcoming events March

Interested in what is happening in March?

On 1 March 2023, the second workshop on personal data spaces will take place physically in Ispra (Italy) for an entire day. More specifically, the objective of this second workshop is to identify how existing and potential personal data spaces technologies can ensure semantic and technical interoperability by working hands-on on a use case. The aim of the use case is to identify the key building blocks which will show how personal data spaces technologies can be used to create an architecture that is conformant to MyData principles. These building blocks will include Identity, Data Modelling, Service Management, Access Control, Governance and Logging. If you want to know more about this particular event, please click here. More generally, to find out more about what SEMIC does around the Personal Data Spaces, visit our SEMIC Support Centre.

Furthermore, on 21 March 2023 we will organise a webinar dedicated to the review of the Data Catalogue Application Profile for Base Registries (BRegDCAT-AP) from 14:00 to 15:00. During this webinar, we will present the current state of BRegDCAT-AP and discuss its future role and relations with DCAT-AP, CPSV-AP and ABR. Contribute to the discussions and issues raised on Github and find more information about this upcoming webinar here.

On 28 March 2023 the final workshop - from a series of three - on Wikidata and Wikibase will take place remotely from 14:00 to 16:00.  We will recap the  experiences shared during the two previous workshops and ask participants to share their views about the usefulness and possible challenges related to the implementation of Wikidata/Wikibase for their own use cases. This event will foster active participation from attendees. We are particularly interested in listening to their own reflections and concerns, as well as wishes for future improvements and additional functionalities. Wikimedia Deutschland will actively participate in this webinar to learn about their experiences so far and how the SEMIC community can potentially contribute to the uptake of Wikidata and Wikibase. Stay tuned for useful resources, a detailed agenda and practicalities here.

Another planned event is the second webinar on high-value datasets taking place on Thursday 30 March 202. We will share more information about this event once it is available.

Finally, on 31 March 2023, the last of the three workshops on personal data spaces will take place physically in Ghent (Belgium) for a full-day. The focus of this workshop is on the co-creation of a vision on what personal data space providers will bring to Member States in the next two years. The goal is to draft a roadmap until 2025 on some of the questions raised above for the advancement of EU-wide interoperable personal data spaces in the coming years. More information will be provided on this specific event page in the SEMIC Support Centre closer to the event date, so keep an eye out for it!
