Next week Monday 1 December, the ePractice platform will become part of the Joinup collaborative platform. The switch will take three days, 1 – 3 December during which Joinup will be placed in read-only mode.
The ePractice and Joinup teams have successfully completed a final rehearsal. We have been testing and rehearsing the migration over the past weeks, and we are confident the transition will be smooth.
Why are ePractice and Joinup merged?
ePractice brings together policy makers and practitioners in the fields of eGovernment, eHealth and eInclusion. The platform offers a number of communities, yet it does not offer the tools to support domain-specific re-usable solutions. Joinup, on the other hand, has communities of developers and a catalogue of interoperability solutions.
This means that there are overlaps and synergies. Joinup offers interoperability for administration-to-administration information exchange, and ePractice adds its many good practices on eGovernment, eHealth and eInclusion. The users will benefit from the consolidation of the applications onto a single platform. Combined, it provides a direct link between the solutions and the practitioners.
To those users of ePractice and those of Joinup that noticed that we were busy preparing for all the changes: thank you for your patience during this period. The integration was an interesting challenge. We are looking forward to next week. We hope you do too.
