Description (short summary):
The Federal Government has identified four areas of action that are to be developed in a targeted manner by 2010 in order to promote the modernisation process in the public administration sector and in Germany as a business location through eGovernment:

  • Portfolio: demand-oriented expansion of the Federal eGovernment services in terms of quality and quantity.
  • Process chains: electronic cooperation between businesses and public administration sectors through a joint process chain.
  • Identification: introduction of an electronic identity card and development of eID concepts.
  • Communication: a secure communications infrastructure for citizens, businesses and administrations.
