NIF - EIF Aligment

Together with the start of the new NIFO cycle in December 2013 (read more),  our Community on Joinup received an update with the addition of the analytical models. Via the “Compare NIFs” page, visitors and members can compare up to four NIFs of different countries and the EIF. Below the spider diagram, it is possible to review the scores and rationale of the different countries on the respective EIF element. As from now, analytical models for the analysis include not only the EIF-NIF alignment of countries, but also information on the NIF Implementation and Monitoring in each of the countries participating (the 28 EU Member States and Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland).

Another update for the community is the addition of the “NIFO Representatives” and “NIFO Factsheets” pages. These pages are now easily accessible via the Joinup navigation panel on the left. They will facilitate the easy retrieval of respectively NIFO Representatives and NIFO Factsheets per country.

Updates from Member States

Up to now, 14 countries out of 34 have replied either with updated information or with a request for clarifications or support from the NIFO team.

Some highlights:

·         Belgium mentioned the launch of a new version of their website

·         Cyprus is in the process of the validation of a new NIF document which is expected to be published in the coming months.

We would like to remind the responsible persons of the countries that have not responded yet to send us their updated analytical model or questions for clarifications/support. This can be sent to Corinne Gattegno ( or Valentina Cilli (
