This is the last release of the Open Source version of the Online Collection Software that the European Commission had the obligation to deliver under the previous ECI Regulation (EU) 211/2011 . For this last release, it was decided to make it compliant with the currently applicable Regulation (EU) 2019/788 on the European citizens’ initiative. Two small improvements/features are brought with this release: 1. The first one relates to be a better user experience for the citizen entering his date of birth. If he does not enter the right format better guidance will be provided to him to spot the issue. 2. This release updates the check on date of birth for Maltese and Greek citizens to comply with the evolution of their national legislation related to voting age at the European elections. Rules related to the voting age are now: Signatories must be EU citizens (nationals of a member state) old enough to vote in European Parliament elections (18 years old, except in Austria & Malta where the voting age is 16, and Greece where the voting age is 17). This release 2.1.1 is a minor update of the OCS 2.1.0 that contains a new privacy statement including references to the General Data Protection Regulation. The Core Public Event Vocabulary is a simplified, reusable and extensible data model that captures the fundamental characteristics of a public event, defined as "Something that happens at a particular place and time, organised by an agent for a particular purpose, and is of interest to a general audience". This version of OCS improves the user experience for the citizens supporting the initiatives with a complete redesign and a new look and feel of the front end. The interface offers more consistency, coherence and engaging information. The support process is shorter and encourages participation. The OCS 1.9 version improves some social media features to OCS: The supporter of the initiative will be able to share his vote with his Facebook, Twitter or Google+ social network after he supported the initiative. As an organizer, you will need to configure the Facebook, Google + and Twitter urls of your initiative that your supporter may want to refer. For Twitter, you are also able to enter a predefined text message for the supporter (that he can change later).
