Copyright and trademark law specialist, European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC)

After the completion of his studies in EU law (D.Jur. University of Turin, LL.M. Lund University), and following a short collaboration with an Italian law firm, Stefano joined the Central IP Service of the European Commission in 2008, bringing additional ICT expertise to the IP and Technology Transfer team.

Since his entry into service at the Commission, his advice has been sought on a broad range of copyright matters with particular focus on software, open data, and the web. Amongst his most extended projects in the field of software and open source licensing is the IP clearance performed for the EU Trademark and Design Office (EUIPO), whose objective was to verify and enable the sharing of a broad set of software solutions with the European Trademark and Design Network.

Stefano has been appointed as a reviewer of the European Union Public Licence and is currently leading the corporate IP audit exercise of the European Commission.
