Chief Executive Officer, Administrative Modernization Agency (AMA), Portugal

Pedro Silva Dias is the Chief Executive Officer of AMA - Administrative Modernization Agency since April 2015.

AMA is the public institute of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Portugal responsible for the national strategy and policies on digital government and services, administrative simplification, innovative public services delivery and related activities.

Before chairing the Board of AMA, Mr. Silva Dias led the Strategy for the Reorganization of the Public Services Delivery in Portugal, from 2014 to 2015.

The CEO of AMA holds a degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, at the Technical University of Lisbon and a Master in Computer Science from the same institute. He also holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from INSEAD and has attended the Executives Program at the Harvard Business School.

Throughout his career, Pedro Silva Dias held several executive positions at the international Millennium BCP Bank, namely Marketing Director and Director for Operational Excellence from 2008 to 2014. His professional résumé also comprises executive responsibilities in the healthcare industry, consulting services at The Boston Consulting Group from 2002 to 2005 and, between 2001 and 2002, Mr. Silva Dias was a researcher at the Institute for Systems Engineering and Computers researching on themes such as Distributive Systems.

With recognized proficiency both academically and professionally, he has also experience in the teaching field, as an assistant Professor for Programming Fundamentals at Instituto Superior Técnico and as an invited Professor of Processes and Operations Management at The School for Business and Economics, from Lisbon’s NOVA University.
