Knowledge Exchange Platform (KEP)

Published on: 05/07/2024 News
Regions and cities play an essential role in achieving our green and digital transitions. The Joint Action Plan and the relaunched Knowledge Exchange Platform work plan that the Committee of the Regions and the European Commission are adopting are milestones in our renewed European Research Area and focus on concrete solutions to improve citizens' lives.

Mariya Gabriel

European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth

The Knowledge Exchange Platform (KEP) is a collaborative initiative with the European Commission's Directorate-General for Research and Innovation. It facilitates the exchange of new research and innovation (R&I) solutions and best practices through horizontal seminars in Brussels, peer-to-peer events in various regions, and local showcasing events. The platform's flexible cooperation process promotes efficient dialogue with European cities and regions on R&I issues and the effective transfer of expertise between local innovation ecosystems, including businesses, universities, and citizens.

Interested parties are encouraged to attend seminars dedicated to diverse themes of interest for European citizens. Suggestions for events on timely research and innovation issues in specific cities or regions are also welcome. Simply contact your representative at the European Committee of the Regions to propose your idea. Members regularly organise such events in collaboration with the European Commission.
