Coinciding with the review process of the European Directive on Reuse
of Public Sector Information, the Spanish OpenData community has launched a campaign for a common European OpenData license in the EU. The campaign is opened for support of all the EU citizens.

Coinciding with the review process of the European Directive on Reuse
of Public Sector Information, the Spanish OpenData community has launched a campaign for a common European OpenData license in the EU. The campaign is opened for support of all the EU citizens.

The aim is to include such a single license of reuse for all public 
information in the European Union in the new Directive, in order to clearly establish the conditions for reuse under the principle of reuse 
without conditions.

The license would be required to be published in all public webs.

The campaign tries to extend to the EU the case of the new spanish regulation on Reuse of Public Sector Information for the state public sector, the Royal Decree 1495/2011, which includes a standard legal notice that 
will be present in all national public web sites before the end of 2012.
 
The Spanish opendata license encompasses the right to reuse public sector information without further conditions to all the citizens, including -where present- the non-exclusive license of intellectual property rights.
