The DT4REGIONS project, born from a Preparatory Action on the initiative of the European Parliament and co-funded by the European Commission, is promoted by a consortium of 14 partners and developed in strategic alignment with the Living-in.eu initiative. Launched in July 2021, it is building a European platform for regional and local administrations, due to host digital solutions based on Big Data and AI to solve societal problems of public interest. Regions, cities and communities have begun to share with their peers from across Europe the policy challenges they are facing (“DT Stories”), and their policy responses (“DT Solutions”), discussing them in a collaborative environment for mutual learning.

The DT4REGIONS final event in Brussels will provide an occasion to showcase the initiatives undertaken by the project in the past two years, such as the DT4REGIONS Platform itself, the DT Stories and DT Solutions gathered on it, the training materials in the Academy, the DT4REGIONS Award for innovative digital solutions.

  • On the first day, Wednesday 21st June, the final event will comprise an Open Debate on the development of digital skills (13.30-15.00), and a session devoted to discussion of synergies and next steps with various “sister projects” at European level (15.30-17.00).
  • On the second day, Thursday 22nd June, keynote speeches will open a high-level conference (09.30-10.45), which will then include a debate among local and regional administrations on how to foster and upscale sustainable digital transformation across Europe (11.00-12.30).

The event will be instrumental in showing how the DT4REGIONS Platform could support and benefit regional and local administrations across Europe. While the project is ending soon, the DT4REGIONS Platform and its community will carry on!
