The Joint Research Centre (JRC) has launched the SG-DoIT portal, an online platform designed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences among laboratories, academia, and industry in the realm of interoperability testing. Developed based on JRC's European Interoperability  testing methodology, this portal offers a comprehensive and practical framework for testing.

The ongoing digital transformation of the energy sector, characterised by the integration of renewable sources, smart grids, energy storage, electric vehicles, and information and communication technologies, is reshaping energy production, distribution, and consumption. However, achieving interoperability among diverse components, systems, applications, and information poses a significant challenge, due to varying standards and technical backgrounds across different industrial sectors. To address this challenge, the SG-DoIT portal assists users in creating interoperability tests, streamlining procedures, drawing from past testing experiences and establishing a growing repository of interoperability use cases for the benefit of stakeholders. The portal aims at the dissemination of information on use cases and test cases
