EmacsConf 2023 is taking place fully online. With a collaborative developer community that has been active for four decades, this two-day conference (Saturday & Sunday) may be beneficial for those in the public sector who are interested in how FOSS development communities work. In addition to its longevity, the Emacs ecosystem has the characteristic of being almost exclusively non-commercial. It is thus also an example of the role of non-commercial contributors in FOSS development communities.
For the above, one particular presentation worth highlighting is on Saturday night, 22:10 CET, Emacs core development: how it works, but other parts of the programme may be of interest to also get a general idea of how this community collaborates. Some presentations are very technical.
