Between 6 and 9 June 2021, the 2021 edition of the FOSSGIS Conference will be organised online. This four-day event provides users and developers a meeting place to discuss and exchange ideas on open source software and open data, with a focus on geographic information systems and on the OpenStreetMap project.

FOSSGIS Conference – 2021 Edition

The annual FOSSGIS Conference is a Swiss community-based event organised by the non-profit organisation FOSSGIS eV and the OpenStreetMap Community, with the support of the Institute for Software (University of Applied Sciences – OST Campus Rapperswill). The purpose of this conference is to promote open source Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and more specifically, promote the use of open source in:

  • Web mapping
  • Spatial data infrastructures
  • Spatial data management
  • GeoProcessing
  • Desktop GIS
  • Free spatial data (such as OpenStreetMap)

The FOSSGIS conference will consist of various webinars and workshops, as well as a virtual networking environment where the participants can meet and engage with each other in a virtual reproduction of the OST Campus Rapperswill. The programme of the event, as well as the complete list of topics and speakers, is available online. Presentations at the conference will be given in German.
