Between 27 and 30 September 2021, the Linux Foundation is organising the Open Source Summit in a hybrid format, taking place in Seattle (USA) and virtually. This event will be focused on the latest trends in open source and open collaboration and on how open source is shaping innovation. Attendees will have a variety of ways to collaborate and share ideas with their peers, as well as to learn how to help create richer open source communities, how to grow their technical skills and much more.

Open Source Summit 2021

The Linux Foundation is a non-profit global organisation aiming to support, promote, protect and standardise Linux and other open source software and technologies. Since 2009, the Linux Foundation organises an annual conference, the Open Source Summit (formerly LinuxCon), to gather the Linux community and to enhance collaboration between the whole open source ecosystem.

This year’s edition of the Open Source Summit will be a four days long hybrid event. During these days, participants will be able to attend numerous conferences, workshops, lightning talks, community and networking events. The list of sessions includes 18 main topics, such as:

  • Cloud administration and infrastructure
  • AI and data
  • Community management and Leadership
  • Diversity, inclusion and equity
  • Internet of Things
  • Linux systems
  • Project highlights

In addition to more global topics such as open licensing or managing a GitHub repository, some sessions will also be focused on governance and education. For instance, a panel discussion will be held on 29 September on “How Government OSPOs deliver value for citizens at scale” presented by, among others, Evangelos Tsavalopoulos from the European Commission.

Online registration is compulsory.
