The event will stem from input gathered in an expert workshop that took place in July, shining a spotlight on lessons learned throughout years of implementing open source in the public sector by officials and developers from diverse parts of Europe and public service organisations. Those learnings include overcoming organisational challenges, releasing and procuring open source in different administrative set-ups, as well as community-building and scaling up.
While the first two webinars of the series delved into the improvements and changes needed in order to introduce more open source within public administrations, this webinar will focus on open source solutions and organisational practices that exist and have succeeded.
The webinar will present a summary of the information gathered in the workshop, presentations from experts, and an open discussion of the topic of solutions that have been proven to work. This webinar will also contribute to the book which is being written by the OSOR team based on input from experts throughout 2023 and which will present the state open source in the EU’s public services.
Join us on this endeavour to learn and share good practices in implementing open source in public services and a way in which valuable resources are created and networks which will benefit Europe for years to come.
