Factsheet on Germany
OSOR has just published the updated report on the state of open source in Germany. This report shows the important recent evolution of open source policy in Germany.

With the establishment of ZenDiS in 2022, the ambitious sovereign cloud development project, and the coalition agreement for 2021-2025, Germany has shown a high level of engagement on open source policy and its use in the public sector. In this report you'll learn how political aspirations are translating into practical solutions. Yet, credit goes to the multitude of initiatives at the grassroots level that have paved the way for this transformation.

The contributions of various Länders in the open source arena have significantly influenced the current national framework, providing valuable insights from both successful endeavours and lessons learned from setbacks. From Saxony to Schleswig-Holstein, Munich to Dortmund, each region's and cities' distinct open source journey has yielded interesting  outcomes.
