Emerging technologies are making public organisations rethink the way they manage and deliver public services. The Public Sector Tech Watch aims to track record of the increasing uptake of these technologies through a database of use cases, scientific reports and insightful webinars.

On this topic, we are happy to announce that a new series of webinars will be hosted by the Public Sector Tech Watch: ‘Innovating the EU Public Sector: Insights on Artificial Intelligence Adoption and the GovTech Ecosystem’. Through three different sessions, you will be able to discover:

  • The critical influencing factors for cross-border GovTech practices;
  • The factors that influence perceived AI adoption by public managers.

3rd Webinar. What Factors Influence Perceived AI Adoption by Public Managers? A Survey in Seven EU-countries

  • Date and Time: Monday 27 May 14.30 – 16.00 (CET)
  • High-level description: This seminar will present the results of a report for which 500 generic public managers (managers with no specific IT expertise) from seven EU-countries were surveyed. The session will provide an overview of the factors that help, and hinder AI adoption as perceived by public managers, including technical issues (e.g., technical capacity and data knowledge), but also ‘soft’ elements such innovation culture and AI trustworthiness. In addition, the discussion will explore how the broader environment (policies, regulations, leadership) as well as a managers’ personal attitude towards AI in society shapes perceived AI adoption. The seminar will include a presentation of the main results and conclusions of the report, a panel discussion with experts from science and practice, and an audience Q&A.
