Dear DCAT-AP community,
We would like to inform you about the recent update of the DCAT Application Profile for data portals in Europe (DCAT-AP). This updated version implements bug fix requests to the DCAT-AP version 1.2, which were submitted to the ISA² Programme of the European Commission in line with the Change and Release Management Policy for DCAT-AP.
The draft version of the DCAT-AP bug fix release is available for public review as from today 10th May until 24th May 2019.
What’s new?
The changes implemented in the draft documents for DCAT-AP version 1.2.1 are related to the comments mentioned in these issues DCAT-AP-54, DCAT-AP-50 from GitHub.
1. Updated references to Publications Office Metadata Registry in DCAT-AP v1.2.1 published .DOC, .PDF and .ODT, as mentioned in DCAT-AP-54:
- Updated references 21-27 and 41 to point from Metadata Registry (MDR) to EU Vocabularies.
- In Section 5.2 - Controlled vocabularies to be used, updated the entries in table column “Vocabulary name” (MDR-> EU Vocabularies) and “Vocabulary URI”.
2. Updated DCAT-AP UML schema as in DCAT-AP-50, by changing the order of startDate and endDate in dct:PeriodOfTime in the diagram https://github.com/SEMICeu/DCAT-AP/blob/master/releases/1.2.1/Draft/DCAT-AP%201.2.1.PNG. The diagram was updated in DCAT-AP v1.2.1 published .SVG, .DOC, .PDF and .ODT.

Next steps
All comments received by 24th May will be evaluated. Once all review comments have been resolved, the final version of the new bug fix release of DCAT-AP (version 1.2.1) will be published at the end of May 2019.
