The European Commission has launched an online survey to gather views on the current draft guidelines helping public authorities to procure ICT (Information and Communications Technology) goods and services based on standards. The survey will be open until 14 February.

This survey is conducted in the context of the Digital Agenda (Action 23). The Digital Agenda is Europe's strategy for a flourishing digital economy by 2020. It outlines policies and actions to maximise the benefits of ICT for all. Action 23 is one of the several actions related to interoperability and standards, and aims at providing guidance on ICT standardisation and public procurement.

The current draft guidelines address topics to help public authorities how to make the best use of available standards when commissioning hardware, software and IT services from external suppliers. The advice is illustrated with best practices found all over Europe.
