BDTI BANNER: From hype to action using the BDTI

In case you are not familiar with the Big Data Test Infrastructure, the launch of our new website is a great opportunity to learn more about it!

But first, let’s start with the basics, what is BDTI?

The BDTI is a ready-to-use, free of charge, analytics cloud stack for the public sector offered to all European public administrations to experiment with open-source tools and foster the re-use of public sector data for a data-informed public sector. Do not get scared by its name, it is not only for big data, but for all public sector data.

The BDTI is offered by the European Commission since 2019 as part of the Digital Europe Programme (DEP). With a planned overall budget of €7.5 billion, the DEP aims to accelerate the economic recovery and shape the digital transformation of Europe’s society and economy, increasing the availability, quality and usability of public sector information in compliance with the requirement of the Open Data Directive.
