hale studio (previously known as the HUMBOLDT Alignment Editor) is a tool for defining, executing and validating schema transformations. Use it to ensure interoperability in different organisations in business processes or to ensure cross standards compliance, or for other daily ETL tasks.
hale studio allows data providers and users (publich authorities and private organisations) to create logically and semantically consistent mappings and to transform geodata based on these mappings. Furthermore, the schema transformation process and its impacts are documented in the form of lineage information attached to the transformed data.
hale studio requires only minimal training. It uses a high-level language for expressing the mappings, which are consumed by the Conceptual Schema Transformer processing component to execute a data transformation, e.g. from a non-harmonised data source to a INSPIRE-compliant data set.
To make this complex process more accessible to domain experts and to increase the quality of the transformations, hale studio allows working with sample geodata (features) for visualization and validation. Furthermore, a sophisticated task-based system supports users in the creation of a mapping that will result in a high-quality, harmonised data set.
