gvSIG is a Geographic Information System (GIS), that is, a desktop application designed for capturing, storing, handling, analyzing and deploying any kind of referenced geographic information in order to solve management and planning complex problems. This project provides the capability to add raster layers to gvSIG from the raster data base extension of PostGIS (PostGIS Raster). The raster layers are added to the geographical view of gvSIG such as a local raster layer. This means that all the features for rater layers can be applied: properties of the layer can be looked up, raster analysis can be executed, colour tables for visualization, etc.
