CityVizor is an online visualisation platform that enables municipalities to show how they spend their money.
The key concept of the solution is the ability to get to the individual spending in as little as three clicks of a
mouse. CityVizor does not try to hide the expenses behind bureaucratic categories defined in budget laws,
like other similar solutions, but instead focuses on concrete investment events like repair of a local street,
erection of a new bridge, grant to the city's public school etc.

CityVizor was developed as an open source application at the Ministry of Finance in a section responsible
for financial management and audit of public resources, it is operated by Otevřená města, z. s. ("open cities",
a non-profit organisation, which is constituted and financed by several municipalities which are committed to
sharing of IT solutions) as a service free of charge to all municipalities in the Czech Republic, server hosting
is provided by a nonprofit VPSFree, z. s. and the data transformations for the most widespread accounting
software used by municipalities is done by Internet Stream, a purely commercial firm.
