This year’s EU Datathon adventure started in February with the call to data enthusiasts worldwide to propose ideas for applications using open data from the EU institutions, agencies and bodies. Code lists are a type of controlled vocabulary containing a finite list of codes and meanings that represent the only allowed values for a particular data item. Standard Code Lists are cross-domain code lists used in Eurostat's reference database, recommended for production databases and data transmission.
