ECHA subsequently has the obligation to make certain of this information publicly available. This information can be consulted through the registered chemicals database available at: http://echa.europa.eu/en/information-on-chemicals/registered-substances Here you can find a variety of information on registered substances: for example their hazardous properties, their classification and labelling and how to use the substances safely. Note…

Classification and Labelling Inventory database for chemicals
This database contains classification and labelling information on notified and registered chemical substances received from manufacturers and importers. It also includes the list of harmonised classifications. The database is refreshed regularly with new and updated notifications. However, updated notifications cannot be specifically flagged because the notifications that are classified in the same way are aggregated for display purposes. Classifications derived from joint submissions to the REACH registration process are flagged accordingly. For more information on these substances, please…

EU Citizens Life Cycle Events
DG MARKT has developed an ontology that describes the domain of Citizens’ Life Cycle Events. The central element of this domain is a list of common topics related to important events of the life of EU citizens and their relation with EU and MS rights, conditions and formalities as the ones shown in the page "Your Europe Citzens".
These topics can be categorized in many ways, such as defining their target audience, the related market freedoms, or the scope of the topic in terms of cross-border impact.
Any content found in a EU or MS page related with citizen’s life cycle events can use the…

Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, teaching, assessment
The result of more than twenty years of research, the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, teaching, assessment (CEFR) is exactly what its title says it is: a framework of reference. It was designed to provide a transparent, coherent and comprehensive basis for the elaboration of language syllabuses and curriculum guidelines, the design of teaching and learning materials, and the assessment of foreign language proficiency. It is used in Europe but also in other continents and is now available in 39 languages. The CEFR describes foreign language proficiency at six…

Biogeographical regions
Europe 2011 - Rev. 1 - The biogeographical regions dataset contains the official delineations used in the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) and for the EMERALD Network set up under the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats (Bern Convention). Biogeographical boundaries were obtained from the EU Member States and from the Emerald Network countries. These were merged together to produce a European wide map of the biogeographical regions independent of political boundaries. A number of the regions were updated during the work under Article 17 of the Habitats…

Guidance on the preparation of dossiers for Harmonised Classification and Labelling
Certain situations require that the classification of a substance is harmonised and made obligatory at Community level to ensure an adequate risk management throughout the European Community. This could happen in three situations: Where the substance is either carcinogenic, mutagenic, toxic for reproduction or a respiratory sensitiser. When the substance is an active substance in biocidal or plant protection products. When it is justified that a classification at EU level is needed. Member States, manufacturers, importers and downstream users may propose the classification and labelling…
