The GITB project (Global eBusiness interoperability test bed methodologies) aims at:
- developing the required global Testing Framework, architecture and methodologies for state-of-the-art eBusiness Specifications and profiles covering all layers of the interoperability stack (organizational, semantic and technical interoperability);
- supporting the realization of GITB as a network of multiple Test Beds, thereby leveraging existing and future testing capabilities from different stakeholders (for example standards development organizations and industry consortia, Test Bed Providers, and accreditation / certification authorities);
- establishing under EU support and guidance, a setup of a comprehensive and global eBusiness interoperability Test Bed infrastructure in a global collaboration of European, North American and Asian partners.
GITB focuses on the architecture, methodology and guidelines for assisting in the creation, use and coordination of Test Beds. The current GITB3 proposal builds on the results of the previous two phases (http://www.ebusiness-testbed.eu/) to provide implementation specifications and a proof of concept implementation. The GITB Testing Framework, which has been the result of the second phase, will form the basis for the realization of the Global GITB Platform in the third phase. This phase aims at developing implementation specifications for the creation, use and coordination of Test Beds, including:
- Test Artifacts (test logic, test configuration and test output documents),
- Test Services and interface definitions (design, deploy, execute, search),
- Test Bed Components (core platform and user-facing components as well as “plug-ins” for specific testing capabilities),
- a Test Repository and Registry (for managing, archiving and sharing distributed testing capabilities).
It will also provide a proof-of-concept implementation comprising
- Test Bed
- Testing Capabilities for business use cases
- Test Registry and Repository.
In line with the overall GITB approach, phase 3 will strongly focus on eBusiness use cases and rely on the contribution of industry communities and their experience in setting up standards-based eBusiness relationships. The GITB Framework is a generic framework and can be applied to any specific eBusiness domains. In order to prove the generic nature of the framework, the framework will be applied to three different business domains having different requirements: eHealth, eBusiness and Automative.
