Swedish TSL Trust is a solution for validating electronic signatures from EU
memberstates within the scope of the Services Directive (2006/123/EC) and
the TSL infrastructure.

The challenge in the context of EU wide services is to determine whether the
signature certificate used to support validation of the signature is trustworthy.

To support this trust process, the EU commission has established a trust
infrastructure based on national supervisory bodies that publish information
about trust services in their respective region. This information is published in
a Trust Service Status List (TSL). The EU commission supports the infrastructure
by publishing a List of the Lists (LotL), which lists all TSLs from national supervisory
bodies that are published within this trust infrastructure.

The Swedish TSL Trust provides support for signature validation by processing
all trust information published within the EU infrastructure and by providing tools
for centralized policy management that allows verification of EU signed documents
(PDF/XML) under distinct rules (so called validation policies).
