International Conference on Policy Making 2.0

On the 17^th and 18^th of June 2013 at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, the Crossover project (http://www.crossover-project.eu/), together with UNDP CIS, the Democratic Society and Euractiv, is organizing a conference, exploring the emerging technologies and trends that are changing the way policy is made. Policy-making 2.0 refers to a blend of emerging and fast developing technologies that enable better, more timely and more participated decision-making. The aim of the conference is to cross-fertilize projects to support community building and to learn from each other.

Over these two days many topics will be discussed including: open and big data, visual analytics, modelling and simulation, collaborative governance and crowdsourcing, serious gaming, and opinion mining.

The participants will hear directly about these topics from:

• The European Commission
• United Nations Development Programme
• Euractiv
• W3C

There will also be a chance for policy makers to submit an application for the Policy 2.0 prize and win an iPad! It’s goal is to raise awareness and consolidate the community about a new set of tools to support policy making, such as open and big data, visualization, opinion mining, collaborative governance, modeling and simulation, serious gaming. Each applicant simply needs to submit an entry featuring the best technological approach to policy. At the conference the final Roadmap for Policy-Making 2.0 will be presented as well.
