The Digital Economy Labs team are going to share their work around city data and how it can be used to transform services and would like feedback and discussion from the open data community and government.
Digital Economy Labs is a series of research programmes at Imperial College London, which investigate various aspects of the digital economy and how these can enable new technical and business opportunities.
Examples data streams include
- transport - Transport for London
- environment - light, air quality, Met Office, Ordinance Survey
- crime
- substance abuse
- telecoms providers
- building management data
The discussion panel will include
- Dr Catherine Mulligan @API_Economics - a research fellow at Imperial College and working on the Digital City Exchange project
- Dr Jenny O'Connor @JennyOC - a sociologist working on the Digital City Exchange project. her research covers citizen engagement, technology development and adoption, data ownership, and the human aspects of privacy and security in relation to various categories of users
- A representative from a London local authority (name TBC)
- A representative from Transport for London (name tbc)
