When: 8 Mar 2013

Venue: Dublin, Ireland

Organiser: JRC

As part of the imaGIne conference, the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission is organizing two sessions on the European Union Location Framework (EULF) . The aim of the EULF is to address the EU-wide, cross-sector interoperability framework for the exchange and sharing of location data and services. EULF as a set of guidelines, standards, principles, policy measures and strategic actions will remove barriers to re-use and interoperability, promote innovative applications and services, and realise the potential of location assets as widely as possible. The EULF is an action supported by the ISA programme. ISA is a Commission-driven EU programme which supports interoperability solutions, sharing and reuse among European Public Administrations.

In these sessions, the EULF will have the opportunity to engage with stakeholders, and determine synergies with actions of a similar 'profile'. Valuable input will be received on the EULF vision which is to provide the foundation for more effective public e-Services, support growth in the private sector and have a positive impact on citizens in their daily lives through a concerted EU-wide approach to sharing and using location information in consistent and innovative ways, working across sectors and borders.

The EULF Sessions will take place on Thursday 8th March as a parallel stream during the Eurogi imaGIne Conference.  For full details of the Eurogi Conference visit the  imaGIne conference website.
