Two new partners from the fields of criminal justice and biological research joined last week.

EPOC IV

In 2004, Eurojust introduced the EPOC software (European Pool against Organised Crime) as the "Eurojust Case Management System".

It facilitates the secure storage of case-related personal data, the exchange of information amongst National Members and the analysis of that data. Moreover, it promotes compliance with Eurojust data protection rules.

The EPOC IV project is a further evolution of the EPOC software to allow the exchange of information with national case management systems and the promotion of use in the Member States.

One of its main objectives is to draft a data format to exchange structured data between different case management systems (XML Schema)

National Center for Biomedical Ontology

The goal of the National Center for Biomedical Ontology is to support biomedical researchers in their knowledge-intensive work, by providing online tools and a Web portal enabling them to access, review, and integrate disparate ontological resources in all aspects of biomedical investigation and clinical practice. A major focus of our work involves the use of biomedical ontologies to aid in the management and analysis of data derived from complex experiments.
