Project Officer, European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) Dr. Robin S. Smith works at the EC Joint Research Centre in the Digital Economy Unit. Since 2012, he is leading the ISA action "A Reusable INSPIRE Reference Platform" (ARE3NA), a project creating and sharing reusable interoperability solutions to support the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive and the use of geospatial data and services for the environment and in other domains. Robin has a background in Ecology and Town and Regional Planning, where his research over the last 20 years has focussed on the role of ICT in public participation, collaborative e-science and the development of European spatial data infrastructures from both social and technical perspectives.
