Costas Simatos

Costas
Costas Simatos is a solution architect, interoperability consultant and team leader working for the Interoperability Unit of the European Commission’s DG Informatics (DIGIT). His professional journey began more than 20 years ago, working always in Information Technology with technical roles ranging from software development to solution and enterprise architecture. Since 2005, he has continuously worked on several large-scale cross-border EU solutions for various European Agencies and the European Commission. Starting from 2015, he has been working at DIGIT’s Interoperability Unit where he remains to this day, working through the years as architect and team leader for several interoperability initiatives and solutions. His current role is leading the Interoperability Test Bed Action to facilitate the conformance testing of solutions realising cross-border public services. Costas received his Bachelor’s degree studying Information Technology at the Athens University of Economics and Business. His academic path continued in Scotland at the University of Edinburgh where he received a Master’s degree with distinction in Informatics. More information on Costas can be found here.
